Everyone involved with Girl Scouts has a story – a reason they became involved, a special memory, or a special moment with their daughter. Share you story with others!
As a Girl Scout volunteer, you can make a positive impact I the life of a girl! As you give your time and talents, you’ll enjoy the rewards of helping today’s girls become tomorrow’s leaders. Kentucky’s Wilderness Road provides volunteers with an ongoing program of adult education both in the areas of leadership courses and enrichment workshops to support your work with girls.
Being a volunteer in GSKWRC doesn’t mean going it alone! As a volunteer, you are invited to benefit from the many courses designed to help you gain the skills and confidence to have a fun, interesting and successful Girl Scout experience! Any registered Girl Scout adult may participate in the adult education courses.
Registration is required of all courses. Pre-registration deadlines may vary depending on the location and the type of course. However, registration is usually one week prior to the course.
Most workshops are free. However, some courses have fees when food, art supplies, or an exceptional quantity of materials are required. Fees are listed with each course description.
Financial assistance is available for any course requiring a fee. Persons receiving financial assistance who fail to cancel when unable to attend will not be eligible for financial assistance for the remainder of the year. For information on financial assistance for adult volunteers, contact cgriffith@gswrc.org in the adult development department.
Please do not bring children with you unless the course indicates “babysitting available”. Most facilities will not accommodate childcare. This is for the safety of your children and the consideration of other workshop participants.
Training cards are available at all workshops. It is important that you retain these cards to verify the courses you have attended. At the end of each course, your facilitator will submit a training report to the Training Director. This information is entered into the council’s training data base.
Most classes are taught by GSKWRC volunteer facilitators. These volunteers give their time to share their knowledge and love of Girl Scouting with all Girl Scout adults. Some specialized classes may be taught by Girl Scout staff members or by special consultants or experts in a particular field.
